Hannah Richardson

Founder, The Mapping Practice · Founder, Montessori Makers Group

Hannah Richardson has spent 25 years inside Montessori organizations. Leading them, rebuilding them, and studying what made the functional ones work. She has served as a head of school, a curriculum director, and an organizational consultant, and she has watched the same structural problems repeat themselves across every kind of institution.

The insight was not complicated: Montessori had already solved most of what organizations are still struggling to name. Distributed authority. Environments designed for the people in them. Feedback loops that do not require a manager in the room. The framework existed. Nobody had formalized it for leadership outside of education.

The Mapping Practice is that formalization. It is not a translation of Montessori pedagogy into corporate language. It is the application of the underlying organizational science. The same principles Montessori was built on, applied to the problems that mission-driven leaders are actually facing.

Hannah is the founder of Montessori Makers Group and the author of The Makers Map and Montessori in Motion. She works with CEOs and executive directors who are done running organizations that work against themselves. Based in Illinois, she works with organizations across the country.

“You are not trying to fix your people. You are trying to build an organization that does not require fixing.”
